Parents and Students of El Camino High School,

Studies have shown that the number one link to school success is attendance. Being on time and ready to learn at the start of the day is crucial in supporting our mission of "helping all of our students succeed".

Remember, school starts at 7:30am. Operation Be On Time, a new tardy policy at El Camino High School, will start on Wednesday, January 25. Read more here...

PASS AmeriCorps Program

passlogo.jpgThe PASS AmeriCorps Program mentors work with students to promote engagement with school, academic improvement through tutoring, and positive decision making skills through individual mentoring and small group discussion. Guest presenters on topics such as college and career choices, positive character development, and life skills are part of the program. Additionally, this year-long program offers the students opportunities for community service learning projects and field trips.

El Camino High PASS Mentors Ami Adkins and Scott Dye are on campus daily from 7:15am – 3:30pm in room B212.

Doctors Express Offering Low Cost T-dap Vaccinations

The Doctors Express Urgent Care in Oceanside is providing Tdap (whooping cough) vaccinations at a reduced cost.  Click Drs-Express to print flyer and receive a $20 discount for this service.  For more information, go to www.doctorsexpress.com.

On 11/28, Mr. Grable's Graphic Design class completed a project that was entered in UC Berkeley's "Young Workers Safety Poster 2012" contest.  The students were tasked with creating a high-impact poster that highlighted the need for safety awareness and worker rights among young, teen-aged workers.

The students will find out in early May if they've won, and the prizes are $200 for third place, $300 for second place and $400 for first place!  Good luck, students!

EC's Principal Admin of the Year!

rowe.jpgMr. Bob Rowe has received many accolades as our new principal and he now has one more he can put under his belt: he has been named the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce's 2011 Administrator of the Year!

The announcement was made at an elegant dinner at the luxurious El Camino Country Club on November 3rd.  Superintendent Larry Perondi gushed about Mr. Rowe's motivation, focus and 'can-do' attitude.  We at ECHS are all proud to call this award-winner our own.
